A primary school in Neasden put pampering parents on its timetable to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Parents, grandparents, aunts, sisters and carers were treated at Mitchell Brook Primary School in Bridge Road, in a three-day event held tin their honour.
Pampering sessions included manicures and aromatherapy massages and there was the opportunity to buy presents for Mothers Day this weekend as parents set up stalls selling perfumes and other gifts.
Inspirational guest speakers who came to give talks about their lives included Jennifer Ogole, founder of Bang Radio, who grew up on the Stonebridge Estate.
The sessions were open to all the community.
Sasha Fields, who has twins Ruby and Oscar in Year five, said: “It’s really nice to see a school that really cares.
“I want to empower myself and those around me.”
Martha Yearwood, who organised the event, said: “We have got so many mums and carers in our community we had to put on something nice for them. We knew it was International Women’s Day and Mother’s Day coming up so it was a perfect opportunity.”
