A shish bar in Harlesden has been forced to closed until next year following claims that its customers were dealing drugs and embroiled in violent fights.

Cleopatra Lounge in Harlesden High Street, has been served with a three month closure order by Brent Police in response to a catalogue of complaints from locals.

In the last few months, officers from both the police and Brent Council’s licensing team had visited the premises to deal with reports of violent disorder, fighting, shouting, noise, large disturbances and drug dealing.

The bar must stay closed until January 9 next year.

Chief Inspector Nick Davies, from Brent Police, said: “Brent Police received many complaints from local people regarding anti-social behaviour around Cleopatras.

“We will always work together with our communities to address things that concern local people. We have, as a partnership, made this application to bring to an end the disorder we were regularly seeing around these premises.”

Cllr James Denselow, Lead Member for stronger communities at Brent Council, added: “This sends a strong message to the owners that we will not tolerate anti-social behaviour. I hope the owners take heed of this and ensure that this type of behaviour does not recur in the future.

“We want to create a safe borough for our residents and visitors and we will work with our partners to achieve this.”
