Demolition plans for Willesden Green pub also threaten deli
Management say they cannot keep Queensbury Deli running without pub
Plans to demolish a Willesden Green pub and build 56 homes in its place are also putting the future of a nearby deli at risk.
Fairview New Homes has put in a planning application to demolish The Queensbury pub in Walm Lane, Willesden Green, and build a two to ten storey block of flats instead.
The plans, which include the demolition of the Conservative Club, were put in to Brent Council on October 3 and are currently up for consultation.
According to the council website, the application is due to be advertised as a public notice on Thursday and a decision will be made on or after November 8.
However, management of the under-threat pub have revealed to the Times that if the pub is made to go, then the Deli would follow.
Stephanie Peel, general manager of The Queensbury, said: “It is important to point out that, we own The Queensbury Deli as well, if The Queensbury pub is to go then the Deli goes as well as they are a joint business.

“It is not big enough to hold itself on its own unfortunately; therefore the pub does support it in more ways than one.
“It would not just be a loss of the pub; it would be a loss of the pub and the Deli.”

A petition has been started which has already got more than 100 signatures online and 300 on paper.
