The hunt is on to find the owner of a dog whose body was found dumped next to rubbish in a street in Cricklewood.

The female Doberman was found near some bins in Cricklewood Broadway, by a resident who lives nearby.

She provided a harrowing photo to the Times which we have censored.

The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, called the RSPCA on the advice of the police.

She said: “How can someone be so cruel as to throw out a dog like she is a bit of rubbish.

“I hope this poor dog didn’t suffer.”

Mike Beaman, an inspector for the RSPCA who was called to the scene on Sunday, told the Times there were no obvious signs of injury on the dog.

He added: “It is possible the owner of the Doberman may have more animals so we are keen to try to contact them to ensure the welfare of their animals.

“In particular we are interested to hear from anyone with information about how this poor dog died, and if she suffered before she died.”

Anyone with information about the dog can contact the RSPCA anonymously on 0300 123 8018.
