More than a dozen supporters donned helmets to join the Cycle for Josh expedition from Oxford to Abingdon at the weekend.

They pedalled 16 miles along the NCN5 cycle path otherwise known as The Hanson Way to raise awareness of knife crime and the on going fight to find Josh’s killer.

Josh Hanson, 21, was killed in an ‘unprovoked and motiveless’ attack inside ‘the RE bar’ in Eastcote on October 11 2015.

Shane O’Brien was named by police as a suspect and continues to evade capture despite being on Interpol’s most wanted list.

Tracey Hanson, Josh’s mum, said: “A huge thank you to everyone that took part and to the volunteers at Sustrans and also to everyone who sponsored us, We are truly thankful.”

The Josh Charitable Trust was founded in December 2016 and was started in memory of Josh to help raise awareness and prevention of knife crime while empowering and supporting young children and adults.

The 3rd Memorial Tournament and Family Fun Day will take place on October 6 at Boreham Wood FC
