Wembley Park has launched its cultural programme, Summer of Play, which will bring more than 300 hours of arts and entertainment to the area.

Highlights include an outdoor film season of Bollywood blockbusters, free screenings of National Theatre Live productions and a global parkour festival.

There will also be free fitness and music classes and urban-gardening sessions at The Yellow Pavilion, a purpose-built community centre, as well as a vintage fair in September.

Summer of Play marks a major investment in the arts in Brent, which was recently named London Borough of Culture 2020.

“This is a really exciting programme and just goes to show that the area has become so much more than just a match-day destination,” said Muhammed Butt, leader of Brent Council.

“As we gear up for our year as London Borough of Culture 2020, it’s great to see this kind of investment in the arts for communities in Brent.”
