Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in Wembley was viciously attacked in her bed by a masked intruder while four men watched.

The group forced their way into the woman’s bedroom in Station Grove where one suspect began to punch and kick the 23-year-old victim in the head while the others stood around watching.

The incident took place at 3am on November 24 when the victim and a second woman were woken by banging on the front door.

The second woman tried to close the door when she saw a man wearing a grey hooded jumper and balaclava but he forced his way inside followed by four other men.

The suspect ran into the bedroom where he attacked the woman for around 15 minutes watched by the group then they all left.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called and the victim was taken to Northwick Park Hospital in Watford Road where she was treated for facial injuries.

Officers launched an investigation and have been carrying out a number of inquiries, including CCTV and forensics.

Detective Constable Jo Trist, from Brent CID, said: “This was a particularly vicious and terrifying assault on the victim in her own bed. The suspects claimed to know her, but as yet we have been unable to identify any motive for the attack. I am therefore appealing for any members of the public who may have information to come forward. It may be that other residents in the street saw the suspects arrive at or leave the address.”
