A Willesden thug who left a terrified Tube worker “inconsolable” after threatening her and grabbing her wrist has been sentenced.

Kai Valmont-Budram, 20, tried to get through a barrier at Warren Street Tube station with an expired Oyster card on January 3.

When stopped, he threatened the member of staff and refused to let go of her wrist. He only did so when another worker intervened.

Valmont-Budram, of Churchill Road, was given a court bill of £620 at Hendon Magistrates’ Court last month, including £50 compensation to the victim. He was given a two-year conditional discharge.

Investigating officer Pc Miguel Orjales said: “This incident had a significant impact on the victim, leaving her scared, inconsolable and in pain. She started to suffer with insomnia and had to take time off.”

TfL’s Steve Burton added: “We do not tolerate any form of physical or verbal assault on our staff.”
