Perverted Jacek Drzal, 32, targeted women on the Metropolitan and Jubilee Line

A pervert from Willesden Green who flashed and masturbated in front of female Tube passengers been jailed for 18 months.

Jacek Drzal, of High Road, targeted his victims as they travelled on the Metropolitan and Jubilee Line between December 2011 and July this year.

Blackfriars Crown Court heard the 32-year-old would sit opposite his target, expose himself and carry out his lewd solo act while looking directly at them.

He is believed to have carried out his perverted behaviour at least seven times before his final act took place on July 27 when he boarded a northbound train at Kilburn Station at 5.40pm.

DC Martin Chapman said: “He sat opposite his victim, a 27-year-old woman, who had fallen asleep.

“When she awoke, she saw him with his trousers pulled down, touching himself in front of her. The victim left the train at Stanmore and reported the incident immediately.”

The victim was shown CCTV footage from the train and identified Drzal as the culprit.

He was arrested later that evening when he was spotted boarding a train at Stanmore Station.

DC Chapman said: “Checks on Drzal’s Oyster card showed that he would travel the network for hours at a time before exiting at a station – a clear sign that he was up to no good.

“In addition, good quality CCTV placed Drzal at the scenes of similar crimes committed by him that were reported to us by other women.”

“Though he made no move towards his victims, or threatened them in any way, Drzal’s offensive and brazen behaviour, quite understandably caused them considerable distress.”

Drzal admitted eight counts of outraging public decency at an earlier court hearing in July and on Tuesday he was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

He was also ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for 10 years.

DC Champan said: “Thanks to excellent CCTV at stations, as well as strong support from witnesses, we were able to seize vital evidence to help secure his conviction.”

“I would also like to pay tribute to the victims for coming forward and providing us with detailed statements and descriptions of Drzal, despite being subject to this frightening experience.”

Siwan Hayward, TfL Deputy Director of Community Safety, Enforcement and Policing, added: “We are glad that Drzal has received a substantial sentence to reflect the severity of this disgusting offence which can often leave the victims feeling traumatised.

“We will continue to work with our policing partners to minimise criminal offences on the Tube network and ensure that offenders like Drzal face the harshest possible penalties.”
