A man from Willesden Green has been charged with sending malicious messages to an MP on social networking website Facebook.
Craig Wallace, who is also known as Muhammad Mujahid Islam, was arrested at his home in Teignmouth Road, by officers on Saturday following a police investigation.
Police are refusing to name the MP but said the politician does not represent a London constituency.
Wallace’s arrest comes after a number of MPs, many of them in the Labour Party, complained to police that they had received death threats after voting in favour of airstrikes on Islamic State (IS) in Syria.
The 23-year-old is due to appear at Hendon Magistrates’ Court this morning accused of malicious communications.
