A perverted flasher from Wembley who masturbated in front of his female victims on the Tube network has been jailed.

Ion Iorga 40, of Kingsgate, targeted five woman after prowling the transport network between April 2012 and July last year.

Blackfriars Crown Court heard he first struck at Canons Park station when he exposed himself and carried out the indecent solo act in front of his victim.

Five months later he flashed at a woman in Finchley Road station and around 15 minutes later exposed himself and masturbated in front of another woman at Harrow-on-the-Hill station.

He carried out his fourth incident the following month when he exposed himself at Hillingdon Station.

He was snared after carrying out his last offence on a northbound Metropolitan line train between Finchley Road and Watford station on July 3 last year.

Two women reported alerted staff and British Transport Police officers who arrested him on the train.

He was identified as the person wanted in connection with the four previous incidents.

Last week he admitted five counts of exposure and was jailed for 15 months and received a further three-month prison term for breaching a suspended sentence for a previous offence.

He has been given a five-year Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO), which bans him from travelling on any London Underground train or entering any station between 6.30pm and 5am until 2019.

DC Stephen Allen, investigating officer, said: “This was an intimidating and very upsetting experience for all of the victims involved and I’d like to commend them for assisting officers during the investigation, which was vital to securing the conviction of Ion Iorga.

“We welcome the sentence and SOPO handed to Iorga and hope it serves as a warning that sexual offences anywhere on the Tube or rail network will not be tolerated and are taken extremely seriously by police and the courts.

“If someone has made you feel uncomfortable on your tube journey – however minor it may seem to you – reporting it to police can help us target the perpetrator and prevent it happening to another passenger.”
