Ra Ra Makaveli from Willesden, was celebrating her 18th birthday when she was shot in Crystals nightclub

A teenager shot in a Wembley nightclub while out celebrating her 18th birthday has described the scene as being like a Western movie

Ra Ra Makaveli was hit after a gunman fired into the partying crowd in Crystals in South Way, Wembley, on Sunday just before 4am.

The intended male target is believed to have been standing next to her.

Miss Makaveli, who lives in Willesden, told the Times after shots rang out she ran out of the club not realising she had been hit.

She said despite the mayhem the determined gunman continued to pursue his target outside the venue.

She said: “It was a like a scene out of a Western movie.

“He (the gunman) had no regards for anyone’s safety. I’m amazed no one else was hit.”

Recalling when she was shot, she said: “There was a big flash and people started running out. Everyone was trying to squeeze through one door and stepping over each other.

“I ran out with them not realising I had been shot but I collapsed I when I got outside and when I lifted my dress I saw a big hole on my leg.

“I was initially told I had been hit by a firework but when I got to the hospital the police told me I had been shot.”

The bullet entered in her leg and travelled through her buttocks, and groin before exiting through her thigh.

She is currently recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery on New Years Day.

She said: “I was in a lot of pain but I didn’t cry until the news was broken to me that I had been shot. I am lucky to be alive.

“Who would believe someone could go out for their birthday and be shot?

“I have never been to Crystals before and I was really looking forward to it. I had my new outfit, hair and shoes and it was supposed to be a fun night.

“If people have beef with each other they need to take it outside. Not involve other people. This will stay with me forever.

“I’m having nightmares and trouble sleeping but know I am lucky to be here and able to say what happened.”

Brent Police obtained a 24-hour closure notice which forced the venue to close its doors on New Years Eve following the incident.

The club’s owner has since voluntarily agreed to keep the venue closed until mid-January.

Detectives from Operation Trident, the Met’s specialist team that probes gun crime in London, are investigating the shooting.

They are currently trawling through CCTV footage for clues.
