A bar owner in Wembley claims he was punched in the face EIGHT times by a Tesco worker after he confronted the man’s drunken colleague for urinating in his doorway.
The worker also allegedly threatened to f**k up his victim after he asked for the mess to be cleared up during the early morning attack in Preston Road.
The victim, who has asked to be anonymous for fear of reprisals, said his attacker was part of a five-strong group who work in the branch nearby and were all wearing the company’s distinctive uniform.
Speaking to the Times the victim said he was alerted to the worker’s action after he heard banging and watched the bar’s live CCTV footage.
“He was urinating, the stench was pungent,” he said.
“I was infuriated so I went outside with a bucket of water to ask them nicely not to do that and to clear it up.
“The man who urinated apologised but then his friend came up to me, abusing me, saying he was going to f*** me up.
“He then threw water on me and I retaliated by throwing water back.
“In an instant I knew I shouldn’t have done that and the next he was raining blows on me.”
Following the attack the victim, who sustained cuts and bruises, suffered concussion and temporary memory loss only realising who and where he waswhen he arrived at hospital.
He said: “I’m scared. They are still out there. Despite being in uniform, despite me seeing they’ve been working, they’ve been back at least twice, sitting at the bus stop outside the store drinking a litre bottle of vodka out of plastic cups.”
“I’ve not been sleeping and locking up the premises has become traumatic.”
A police spokesman confirmed they were investigating the attack which took place on September 12 at 1.10am.
He added: “The suspect is described as Asian, possibly Sri Lankan, aged between 20 and 30-years-old.
“Officers are studying CCTV footage as part of ongoing enquiries.”
A spokeswoman from Tesco said the incident occurred outside the store’s operating hours and she was unable to comment on their employee’s behaviour.
She added: “This is a matter for the police and we’ll support them with their investigations.”
