Achraf Jandara, 20, stabbed to death the 26-year-old fashion designer from Kilburn
A Moroccan student who robbed and murdered a fashion designer from Kilburn after they met off Facebook has been jailed for life.
Achraf Jandara, 20, stabbed Shaun Akanbi to death before fleeing with items from his victim’s Billy Boyce clothing line and other possessions in December last year.
The body of Mr Akanbi was found in his flat in Cedar Lodge in Exeter Road, on December 22 after his colleagues at a phone shop where he worked part-time contacted the police when he failed to show up for his job.
He had been stabbed repeatedly.
Jurors at the Old Bailey heard the two had previously exchanged messages on the social networking site before Mr Akanbi invited him over.
The killer’s footprint and DNA was found in Mr Akanbi’s flat and his victim’s laptop computer was sold by Jandara’s cousin two days after the murder for £160.

CCTV footage captured him entering gates leading to Mr Akanbi’s flat.
Jandara was also caught on CCTV entering Kilburn Tube Station wearing his victim’s clothing and carrying his possessions in a suitcase.
Jandara had denied killing Mr Akanbi claiming he had found his body in his flat.
Today he was found guilty and jailed for life with a minimum term of 28 years.
DCI Russell Taylor, who led the murder hunt, said: “Shaun Akanbi was a highly talented, successful and popular young man needlessly murdered for the sole purpose of Jandara’s financial gain.
“He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.”
Jandara, from Camberwell, south London, carried out the murder a week before his student visa was due to expire.
He will be deported after serving his sentence.
