Two M&S workers from Brent are accused of stealing up to £50,000 worth of goods from their workplace after repositioning CCTV cameras to avoid being filmed.
Anton Lewis, 26, of Braemar Avenue, Neasden, and Rene Mills, 23, of Conduit Way, Stonebridge, allegedly carried out the thefts while doing night shifts at the Kensington High Street store.
Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court heard the two worked alongside Ilyas Ali, 21, Ishmael Ali, 22, both from Wandsworth.
All four are charged with theft but did not enter a plea in court.
Mills was no longer working for the company when the alleged crimes involving stock worth between £20,000 and £50,000 took place.
The remaining three have since had their contracts terminated.
Prosecutor Simna Khan said: “Marks and Spencer estimated that the loss is between £20,000 and £50,000.

“Marks and Spencer only does a stock intake twice a year and that figure comes up on an estimated loss.’
She added: “All four individuals do not appear before you as a conspiracy but have been charged together as all four were acting together in unison.
“Both Mr Alis were employees of Marks and Spencer as well as Mr Lewis.
“Mr Mills is an ex-employee of Marks and Spencers.
“From the outset you have at least three individuals who were working during the period where there was a breach of trust”
All four were released on bail with a condition not to enter M&S in Kensington.
They are due back in court for a preliminary hearing on September 23.
