Drug use at a brothel in Harlesden where drug use was so rife that the pungent odour of heroin and crack cocaine filled the communal hallway has been closed down by the council.
Brent Council took action following a catalogue of complaints from neighbours about the flat in Sellons Avenue being used by drug users and known prostitutes who caused disruption, noise and also intimidated and harassed locals.
Two men have been arrested after officers seized drugs paraphernalia, condoms and a large sum of cash during a raid of the flat.
The property has been shut down after the council were granted a ‘Crack House Closure’ order from the courts.
Cllr Michael Pavey, Brent Council’s cabinet member for stronger communities, said: “This situation sounds like an absolute nightmare - the neighbours must have suffered so much.
“I’m very pleased that our Anti-Social Behaviour Team managed to obtain a ‘Crack House Closure’ order in Court which saw the house shut down and arrests made.
“We will continue working hard with our partners to ensure that no community is blighted by this kind of behaviour.”
