Two schoolboys have been arrested in connection with a vicious attack on a pensioner from Cricklewood after he asked a group of youths to stop throwing sweets.

The 72-year-old was punched in the face and kicked while travelling on a First Capital Connect train at St Pancras International station on December 19.

The victim was rushed to University College Hospital where he was treated for facial injuries and later discharged.

Detectives from British Transport Police released images of three youths they would like to speak to and have since arrested two 14-year-old boys from Wembley and Cricklewood on suspicion of assault.

They have been bailed to return to a police station on February 7.

A third boy, age 15, from Cricklewood, who was not pictured, was also arrested and bailed to return to a police station on February 18.

Officers are appealing for information leading to the whereabouts of a third male who they would like to speak to.
