Officers have released CCTV images in connection with “nasty attack” in Queensbury where a teenager was stabbed.
Police were called to Queensbury Underground Station at 12.45pm on Thursday February 9 after members of the public reported a brawl on the station’s staircase.
The victim, a 16-year-old male, was with a group of friends when they were targeted by a group of four men. He was subsequently stabbed once.
Units from British Transport Police (BTP) and the Metropolitan Police attended and paramedics from the London Ambulance Service treated the victim before taking him to hospital.
The station was closed for five hours whilst specialist officers gathered any forensic evidence.
To date, no arrests have been made in connection and police continue to appeal for any available witnesses.
Investigating officer DS Dean Percival, said: “Our investigation into this nasty assault continues and we are now in a position to release CCTV images of four men we would like to speak with. I believe they each could possess vital information which may help our enquiries.
“Thankfully, the victim’s stab wounds were not serious and he was discharged from hospital later the same day. Despite this, the violent and shocking nature of this unprovoked assault means we will continue to track those individuals who targeted this victim.
“I am very keen to hear from anyone who was in the station at the time or who witnessed a group of men running away from Queensbury station just before 1pm. Please get in touch as your information could be vital to our investigation.
“Violent assaults such as this are thankfully uncommon, but when they do occur we will use all available evidence to find those responsible and bring them before the courts.”
Anyone with information is asked to text BTP on 61016 or call 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 261 of 08/02/2017. Or, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
