A man from Park Royal was caught with a pump-action shotgun after a police officer posed as a delivery worker to drop off £41,000 worth of cocaine, a court heard.
The Old Bailey heard Anthony Jones, 29, of Toucan Close, was targeted after US customs discovered the drug in a box of magazines as it was processed in a sorting office in Texas.
The package had been posted from the Caribbean island of St. Maarten and was destined for an address in Park Royal.
But Britain’s National Crime Agencyy (NCA) intercepted it at Heathrow after being alerted by US officials.
Prosecutor Tim Devlin said the white powder inside, found to be 61 per cent pure with a street value of £41,000, was switched for a dummy substitute.

Jurors heard Jones replied ‘yes’ to the name and signed for the package on July 4 this year.
He was arrested five minutes later.
A search of the flat revealed a green bag stashed behind the kitchen cupboard which had held pump-action shotgun and a box of cartridges.
The American Winchester weapon had been sawn off at the stock, while there was a fired cartridge in the chamber and six rounds of ammunition.
Jones denies importing cocaine and possession of a prohibited weapon.
The trial continues.
