A murder investigation is underway after a man was stabbed to death in Harlesden yesterday evening.

The victim, identified locally as a mechanic in his early 50’s, is believed to have been attacked in Campbells garage in a service alley off Ranelagh Road at around 6.30pm.

Officers, paramedics and a helicopter were called to the incident and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Residents living in the police cordon zone set up between Ranelagh Road and Honeywood Road described officers rushing to the scene of the fatal stabbing which took place just yards from a Met police safer neighbourhoods contact point.

Local business owners believe the incident arose from a dispute regarding payment at the garage.

Daniela, 22, a student who lives with her 11-year-old brother in a house opposite the garage said: “My little brother came running in last night after he saw all the police cars, it was scary and we didn’t know what was going on.

“Its pretty dangerous to be honest, we always have things like this happening.”
