Detectives investigating how a man sustained serious head and throat injuries in Kingsbury believe they may have been self-inflicted.
A police probe was launched after the man, believed to be in his 30s, was found in Church Lane on Tuesday morning.
He was rushed to hospital where his injuries were described as life-threatening.
He has since improved and medics believe he will be well enough to be discharged from hospital soon.
