A suspected gunman accused of shooting a father-of-one in Stonebridge who died four years later will stand trial for murder in April next year.
Shaun Brown, 30, is accused of blasting 21 year-old Garvey Thomas in the head at close range outside the Livingstone Hostel in Melville Road, on June 16, 2006.
The 9mm bullet passed through Mr Thomas’ jaw and lodged next to his spinal cord, leaving him paralysed from the neck down.
On 18 August 2010, four years after the attack Mr Thomas died as a result of his injuries, it is claimed.
Brown was charged with murder last week and appeared at the Old Bailey by video link from prison.
The Recorder of London, judge Nicholas Hilliard QC, set the trial for April 10.
Brown, of no fixed address, will appear in court for a trial preparation hearing on February 2 next year.
