Four torturers who stripped, whipped, blinded and temporarily robbed a man in a Kilburn flat have been jailed for more than 11 years.

The horrifying “gangland-style” ordeal lasted 45 minutes and saw the victim splashed in the eye with bleach, beaten with a belt, charging cable and broom handle, and racially abused.

It only ended when the four attackers – three of whom are from Kilburn – sent the man to rob a nearby shop. He told the shopkeeper what was happening and police forced their way into the flat where one of the attackers was still waiting.

Det Con James Allsopp from Brent Gangs Unit said: “Such violence will not be tolerated and justice can still be found, even when people are threatened and intimidated.

“We urge all communities to keep working with the police so that we can continue trying to make London as safe as we possibly can.”

It happened on November 14 when the victim went to a flat in Albert Road to collect a charging cable. When he walked in, he was confronted by Myron Forbes, 23, Gael Mwanzo, 21, Prince Kodua-Owusu, 21, and Rakeem Blackford, 23.

Forbes threatened him at knifepoint, punched him and dragged him into the bedroom. They took his clothes, bag, phone, cards and Bluetooth speaker before unleashing their beating – and recording it on smartphones.

When police forced their way into the flat, Blackford was still there. Mwanzo and Kodua-Owusu were arrested at home while Forbes later handed himself in.

All four were charged with attempted GBH with intent and false imprisonment. Forbes was further charged with witness intimidation.

Forbes, of Malvern Road, Kilburn, was jailed for 32 months, plus two extra months for committing an offence while under a suspended sentence.

Mwanzo, of Leigham Court, Lambeth, was jailed for 32 months.

Kodua-Owusu, of Walbrook Court in Rupert Road, Kilburn, was sentenced to 37 months behind bars. And Blackford, of Stafford Road, Kilburn, was sentenced to 32 months in prison.

They appeared at Harrow Crown Court on Wednesday.
