The prime suspect for the murder of a Kingsbury man features on the UK’s most wanted fugitives believed to be hiding in Spain.
Shane O’Brien, 27, is being sought in connection with the killing of 21-year-old Josh Hanson in an ‘unprovoked and motiveless’ attack on October 11 last year.
Mr Hanson was stabbed in the neck inside the RE Bar in Eastcote at around 1.10am. He died at the scene.
Yesterday the National Crime Agency (NCA) appealed for information leading to the whereabouts of O’Brien and nine other people who are wanted in connection with crimes including child sexual exploitation, drug trafficking, fraud, money laundering and serious assault.
Detectives believe O’Brien could be hiding in either Spain or Dubai under a new pseudonym.
This updated list coincides with the 10th anniversary of Operation Captura, a multi-agency campaign which has seen 76 fugitives apprehended out of the 86 publicised.
Steve Reynolds, head of international operations for the NCA, said: “The success of Captura demonstrates our relentless pursuit of fugitives. We never give up. Many of them use Spain as a base to continue illegal activities which still have an impact on the UK, but it is not a safe haven.
“The fugitives we are hunting are wanted for serious crimes and must be returned to the UK to face justice. We need the support of the public to help us catch them. Be our eyes and ears and tell us if you have any information on the whereabouts of our targets.”
There is a £20,000 reward on offer for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of O’Brien, who also uses the name Troy.
He is 6ft with grey eyes and short dark brown hair and has a distinctive tattoo on his back that says ‘Shannon 15-04-06’.
