Jailed: Rapist who tried to strangled his victim during sex attack in Colindale

A vicious rapist who beat up his victim and tried to strangle her during his brutal attack in Colindale has been jailed for 14 years today.
Ramon Pinto, 30, spotted the woman who had just been out with a group of friends and followed her before carrying out the rape in Tyrrel Way on June 6 at 1.20am this year.
Harrow Crown Court heard he told his victim he would kill her is she told the police but she courageously reported the attack to the police and he was traced through DNA evidence.
He was charged nine days after.
Pinto, from Edgware, was sentenced today for three counts of rape, attempted strangulation, and assault by penetration, actual bodily harm and possession of Class A and B drugs

Detective Constable Sonny Bhamrah, investigating officer, said: “This was a predatory attack by Pinto and he has rightly been sentenced to a long term in prison for a vicious crime.
“This case is also a reminder that the Met will work tirelessly to support victims and bring offenders of sexual assault to justice.”
