A Wembley police officer has been dismissed from the force following a misconduct hearing on July 27.
PC Jamil Choudry was sentenced to three years in prison on April 20, after being found guilty of three counts of fraud by false representation.
After a special case hearing on July 27 chaired by Met assistant commissioner Mark Rowley, it was decided Mr Choudry would be dismissed from the Metropolitan Police Service.
The officer, who had been serving at Wembley Police Station, faced charges of breaching the standards of professional behaviour. in respect of ‘honesty and integrity’ and ‘discreditable conduct’ after he was found guilty of three charges of fraud.
Assistant commissioner Rowley said: “The officer is in prison for fraud and the matter was proven without contest.
“PC Choudry has no exceptional mitigation and, given he is in prison for three years for dishonesty, dismissal is the only course of action available to uphold the reputation of the police service,” he said.
