Victim, 56, caught up in melee while waiting for a bus

A 68-year-old man suffered a fractured hip after he was caught up in a street fight while waiting for a bus.

The victim was sitting at a stop in Harrow Road at the junction of Napier Road, Wembley, on Sunday night at around 11.30pm when he witnessed the two men fighting.

During the melee he was pushed to the floor resulting in him sustaining his injuries.

A 31-year-old man was arrested for affray and grievous bodily harm.

He has been bailed to return to a police station next month.

Making a witness appeal, PC Ketan Gami from Brent Police said: β€œIt was raining at the time of the incident and there were people standing at the bus stop for shelter.”
