A Harlesden man who kidnapped, tortured and murdered a drug dealer who owed his flatmate money has been jailed for life after a third retrial.
Kamil Dreszer, 29, of Greenhill Park, was part of a gang who snatched Andrzej Kulesza after forcing their way into his friend’s home in September 2010.
The victim, who owned money to Grzegorz Misiak, was held at Dreszer’s home where he was beaten with a metal bar, spat on and force-fed amphetamines and alcohol.
His girlfriend was she would need to pay a ransom after she called friends and acquaintances querying his whereabouts.
She was called by her boyfriend who was crying and screaming while pleading with her to help him by paying his kidnappers.
She borrowed £300 from a friend and handed over the cash to another man at a rendezvous point in Edmonton but despite promises that Mr Kulesza would be released another demand for £500 was made before the calls abruptly ended.
Jurors at the Old Bailey heard Dreszer, Artur Janik, 30, from Woking, Daniel Kosowski, 43, from Beckton, east London, and a fourth man travelled to Northamptonshire to dispose off Mr Kulesza’s body.
His skeletal remains were found in a field with a ligature around his neck in April 2011.
Dreszer had previously been convicted of murder, kidnapping, false imprisonment and preventing the lawful burial and disposal of a corpse and jailed for life.
However, he was acquitted of the count of murder on appeal.
On Friday he was found guilty and jailed for life with a minimum tariff of 22 years.
Janik was previously jailed for 11 years after being convicted of manslaughter, kidnapping, false imprisonment and preventing the lawful burial and disposal of a corpse.
Daniel Kosowski was previously found guilty of preventing the lawful burial and disposal of a corpse and jailed for 30 months.
Misiak was arrested and bailed in connection with Andrzej’s murder.
He had been extradited to Poland on matters of extortion, fraud and assault where he died in a car crash in July 2012.
