Detectives have put up a £20,000 reward for information leading to a gunman who shot dead a student from a Brent college as he walked into a party.

Chleve Massi, 23, was studying at the College of North West London when he was gunned down at the 13th floor flat in Thamesmead on February 1 last year at around 4.30am

Chleve, who was also known as Clive, was in the second year of an HND in Vehicle Operations Management course at the college campus in Willesden.

Today marks the first anniversary of his murder and detectives hope the reward will encourage anyone with information to come forward.

Investigating officers believe around 70 people had been at the party but by the time Chleve and his friends arrived half had left the event.

After he was shot his friends carried him out of the flat, and left in three cars including a grey Audi A3 and a dark blue Ford Focus.

Police who were called to the scene stopped both cars where they discovered Chleve injured in the Ford Focus.

Paramedics were called and rushed him to hospital but he died several hours later.

Detective Chief Inspector Graeme Gwyn, who is leading the murder hunt, said: “Chleve had literally just walked through the door of the party when he was shot. There are a number of people who were there that night, who must know what happened, and who was responsible for firing the gun that killed Chleve.

“One year on from Chleve’s murder, it is not too late for you to speak out and tell us what you know. A year can be a long time, friendships and allegiances change.

“If you were at that party that night and know who is responsible, it is important that you are brave enough to come forward. We can offer you support and confidentiality, but please help Chleve’s family get the answers they deserve.

“There is now a reward of up to £20,000 in place for information that can help catch whoever murdered Chleve.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact the investigation team on 020 8721 4812 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

A total of 21 people have so far been arrested in connection with the murder but to date no one has been charged.
