Crispin Siddon murder trial: Jury told rapper Skeng tried to defend himself with afro comb in fatal brawl

Crispin Siddon, 34, was allegedly knifed in the heart by Anthony Allen in front of horrified customers and staff at Cutz Barbers in Craven Park Road, Harlesden, on May 5.

The fight started when Siddon, co-owner of GB Records with hip hop star Corleone, walked into the shop and punched Allen in the face demanding “Where’s my money?”, the court heard.

Prosecutor Duncan Atkinson QC said: “It appears Siddon confronted Allen about a debt. While he may not have started the trouble, it was Allen who finished it.

“The fact Siddon armed himself with an afro comb shows the threat Allen presented,” he said.

Prosecutors claim Allen aimed five “jabbing movements” with the knife at Mr Siddon’s chest.

Mr Siddon, known as ‘Skeng’, suffered a fatal stab wound which penetrated his left lung and heart. He died in hospital.

The prosecutor claimed Allen caused the injuries to Mr Siddon “in anger” not self defence.

“While he was entitled to defend himself, his response was to produce a lethal weapon,” Mr Atkinson said.

About an hour after the fight at 3.25pm Allen was seen by a doctor at the West Middlesex University Hospital.

He falsely told the doctor he had been punched and stabbed in the thigh in a park by an unknown person and he had cut his finger on a fence, the court heard.

“The fact he chose to give a fictional account of how he sustained his injuries is significant as to the nature of his role in the incident,” said Mr Atkinson.

Allen, 34, of Tillet Close, Neasden, denies murder and possession of a knife.

The trial continues.
