Gabay had already killed a homeless Polish man with a single punch in Neasden four years earlier and served 21 months inside for manslaughter.

The Old Bailey heard Mr Payne was targeted after his cousin Simeon Campbell and Tachane Roach-Johnson clashed the day before.

Prosecutor Sally Howes QC said: “He was punched and kicked repeatedly and sustained a stab wound to the abdomen from which he eventually died.”

Mr Payne was taken to hospital for treatment and was discharged from St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, on September 13.

He collapsed and died minutes later as he left with his father Keith Payne.

Judge Nicholas Hilliard QC, sentenced Gabay to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 25 years for the murder of Arron Payne.

He said: “You of all people were well aware that death can result from violence even when death is not intended.

“His is the second life you have taken. He had the greater part of his life ahead of him when he had the misfortune to cross your path.

“You have caused untold pain and sorrow.”

Tachane Roach-Johnson, 23, brothers Jarveer Walters, 22,and Jamal Walters, 18, all of Roger Stone Court, Coombe Road, Neasden, and Mark Reid, 29, of Demeta Close, Wembley, were all acquitted of conspiracy to cause GBH with intent.

Reid was also cleared of assisting an offender.

They all blamed Gabay for the stabbing and claimed they were unaware of any plan to get revenge.
