The seven-strong mob armed with hammers and axes force their way into Emirates in Kilburn High Road before smashing the display cabinets and snatching thousands of pounds worth of goods just after midday.

The owner of the shop sustained a suspected broken collar bone after he was beaten up by the gang and thrown out onto the pavement while a mother and her children can be seen cowering with fright as the robbers carry out the theft.

Several of the robbers make their escape in a getaway car, believed to be a blue Mercedes, while the others flee on three motorbikes.

However one of the motorcyclists was hit by a car forcing him to force it behind.

Police recovered stolen items on the abandoned bike at the scene.

Today it has emerged the owner is friends with the owner of a jewellers in Kingsbury High Road, Kingsbury, which was robbed in an identical theft on Monday.

In that robbery an eight-strong gang, all on motorbikes, used axes and sledgehammers to smash the windows of The Jeweller at around 2.25pm

Angry traders threw weapons at the gang to try and thwart their escape and one man was dragged off his vehicle and held by the workers until he was arrested by the police.

The 24-year-old is still in police custody.

A police spokesman told the Times it was too early to link the robberies.
