29 arrests made across the borough
More than 20 people have been arrested across the borough yesterday as part of a London wide operation to crack down on mobile phone thieves.
A range of specialist units including safer transport, traffic, dogs, and specialist crime supported Brent officers in the day long operation, which saw 11 warrants executed across the borough and 29 arrests.
Brent Borough Commander Matthew Gardner said: “Even though boroughs across London have responded to the tragic events that occurred in Woolwich, this evidences the Met’s response to continue with business as usual across the Capital.
“As ever, Brent police have used every ounce of our resources to bring criminals to justice for the crimes they have committed against decent members of the public. This operation is about transferring the fear from the victim onto the criminal and we do it well, we do it often and we will keep doing it.”
