Anthony Banfield-Sturgess is claimed to have fleeced three customers
A Barclays Bank cashier from Wembley accused of fleecing more than £87,000 from three customers’ accounts is facing trial.
Anthony Banfield-Sturgess, 24, of Sylvia Gardens, is said to have accessed the accounts of Kevin Walls, Imran Aslam and Colin Beverage without authorisation while working at a branch of the bank near Oxford Street in Central London.
Southwark Crown Court heard today that the fraud is said to have taken place between April 19 and May 31 last year.
Smartly dressed in a grey suit and pink and white striped shirt, Banfield-Sturgess spoke only to confirm his name and deny a single count of conspiracy to commit fraud by abuse of position.
He has been released on bail and will stand trial at the court in September.
