Police are appealing for witnesses after two children were assaulted on board a Metropolitan Line service in Wembley Park for putting their feet on the seats.

The train, travelling from Liverpool Street to Uxbridge, had stopped at Wembley Park when a man onboard the service shouted at two children, aged four and five, at around 5.20pm on November 12.

The man was unhappy that the children, who were accompanied by their mother, had their feet on the seats. He grabbed one of the children by the ankle and the other by the knee and tried to physically remove them from the seats.

Investigating officer PC Ryan Hutchings said: “The children and their mother were left distressed after the incident and I am very keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in this particular tube carriage and may have witnessed the incident.

“If you have any information about this incident please contact 0800 40 50 40 or text 61016 citing reference 84 of 28 December.”
