List features men and women wanted for violent offences, fraud and other crimes

Brent Police are appealing for information about the whereabouts of the borough’s 20 most wanted suspects.

This month’s appeal features twice as many wanted men and woman as usual who are being sought for a variety of crimes including fraud, criminal damage and violent offences.

One of the two women featured has been mentioned in an appeal last year, as have several of the men, but has yet to be traced.

Some have been identified through new forensic evidence or through CCTV, while others have already been charged and failed to turn up at court.

Last year’s monthly campaign led to several arrests and Brent Police are hoping 2013 can be equally successful.

Sergeant Christopher Gadd from Brent Police, said: “My dedicated team of officers have been working relentlessly to bring fugitives to justice. One of our core principles is that we are very community driven. We realise that positive results have a significant impact on many vulnerable victims of crime and on public confidence in general.

“We recognise that crime can affect people physically, financially, psychologically and emotionally. There is often a sense of disempowerment.

“The arrest of an offender often represents a very important step for the victim in their recovery process. With that in mind, it makes all of us want to do an even better job for those who become victims of crime.”

“However our success would not have been as great if it were not for the ongoing support we have receive from partner agencies and the great relationship we have with the residents of Brent.

“I sincerely offer my gratitude to those who have stepped forward with information.”

Chief Superintendent Matthew Gardner, Brent Police Borough Commander, added: “There are no hiding places in Brent. We will do everything we can to keep burglars, robbers and violent offenders in custody and place them in front of the court.”
