British Transport Police are tring to trace suspect and victim

The hunt is on to find a man who threatened to stab a passenger on a packed train at Willesden Junction station.

The victim, who detectives are also trying to trace, was sitting on the stationary train when he was approached by man who produced a knife and threatened him with it.

A brave witness intervened and the suspect ran off the Stratford-bound train and out of the station.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

They are also appealing to the victim, who was targeted on February 13 at around 10.30pm, to come forward.

PC Ian Russell, from British Transport Police (BTP) who is investigating the incident, said: “This would have been an extremely intimidating experience for the victim, and we urgently need to identify who he is and speak to him.

“The train was fairly busy and I am sure that there are some witnesses to the incident who could help us with our enquiries. I would also urge anyone who recognises the man pictured, or who has any information about the incident, to please come forward.”

Anyone with information should contact BTP on 0800 40 50 40 quoting B1/LNA of 25/02/2013.
