Trio fled empty handed from Saghana Jewellers in Ealing Road
The hunt is on to find three men who tried to carry out a smash and grab robbery at jewellers in Wembley.
The trio fled empty handed after failing to smash their way into Saghana Jewellers in Ealing Road, last week.
They sped off in a black BMW 1 Series convertible which was later found dumped in Copland Mews, just minutes away from the scene.
Detectives from the Met’s Flying Squad who are investigating the incident last Wednesday at around 4.20pm are linking it to an identical robbery which took place two days earlier in Southall, west London.
Two men wearing dark clothing and balaclavas pulled up outside Goldbox jewellers on South Road in a black BMW 1 Series convertible at around 5pm.
They smashed the shop’s windows grabbing a selection of gold necklace and earring sets worth around £6,000 from the display.
They led in the car which was driven by a third person.
Detective Constable Johnny Baker, from the Flying Squad, said: “The attempted robbery in Wembley was an audacious and brazen raid in broad daylight and just a mere two days after the first incident.
“We now believe that this attempted robbery is linked to the robbery in Southall and we urgently require the publics help in tracing these suspects.
“Were you nearby when either incident took place? Did you see the getaway car or the person waiting inside?
“If you have any information no matter how small please come forward and help us to catch those responsible.”
Anyone who can help is asked to please contact the Flying Squad on 020 8358 1751 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
