A thief who wore two pairs of trousers to hide mobile phones he stole from rock fans at an Avenged Sevenhold concert in Wembley Arena has been jailed.

Alexandru Lenca, from Walthamstow, east London, has also been banned from entering parts of Wembley when music or sporting events are taking place at the arena of the National Stadium.

The Asbo barring him lasts for two years.

North West London Magistrates Court heard the 23-year-old was found with 16 stolen phones hidden in a second pair of trousers worn underneath his clothing that were taped around the knees so they could be dropped down the leg at ease.

A further two were also found in his possession.

He was snared after a tracking device on one of the phones lead officers to Bridge Road, Wembley, where he was stopped and searched as the concert took place on December 1.

He admitted theft and was jailed for 16 weeks five days later.

Acting Detective Inspector Anthony Bellis said: “Brent Police are committed to not only arresting and charging those criminals who visit Brent specifically with the intention of committing crime, but also to prevent them from committing further offences in the future by applying for and robustly enforcing anti social behaviour orders.”
