Two men who stole a £35,000 Rolex watch after posing as prospective buyers in Kingsbury have been sentenced and ordered to pay their victim compensation.
Perry Broome, 26, of Hawthorne Grove, Kingsbury, and Curtis Bittan-Price, 28, from Leeds, snatched the valuable timepiece after arranging to meet a man who was selling the watch on behalf of his sister.
Harrow Crown Court heard all three met up and visited a jeweller in Kingsbury where they had the watch authenticated last September.
After this had been done Price asked to look at the watch again outside the shop and ran off to a waiting car which was driven by Broome.
The pair were caught using telephone records, CCTV and the circulation of an image.
Both admitted theft at Harrow Crown Court.
Broome was sentenced to seven months in jail suspended for 24 months, place on an eight-week curfew and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100 and pay costs of £1,200.
Bittan-Price was sentenced to 10 months suspended for two years, 150 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay compensation of £12,000 to the victim in addition to a £100 victim surcharge and £800 costs.
