The family of Mohanna Abdhou, known as Montana to friends, are calling for answers as detectives continue to appeal for witnesses and information.

Mohanna Abdhou, 20, was gunned down as she stood talking with friends on Malvern Road.

Police were called at 20:54pm on Friday evening to Blake Court.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found Mohanna suffering from gunshot injuries.

She was pronounced dead at the scene at 21:34pm and a post-mortem investigation has found that she died from a single gunshot wound.

Police have described how Montana and her friends were approached by two males on bicycles.

The suspects were both wearing dark coloured clothing and had their faces covered.

One of the suspects discharged a firearm towards the group and Montana was shot.

The suspects fled along Malvern Road heading in the direction of Shirland Road.

Montana’s family said in a statement: “We are truly saddened, heartbroken and still in complete shock that we have lost a beautiful and caring soul. No words can truly express our feelings towards this situation.

“She was a loving daughter, sister and friend. She was loved by everyone and her warmth and kindness will be remembered fondly.

“The thought that anyone can go out there and murder an innocent person is truly heart breaking and we wish that no other family ever goes through such distress. She will always be in our minds and in our hearts.

“Our family need answers as to what happened to our beloved Montana; someone must know something, or have suspicions about someone being involved. I ask them to search their hearts and tell the police what they know.”

The officer leading the police investigation, DCI Andy Partridge, said: “Montana’s family are devastated by her senseless killing, and I and my team are committed to finding those responsible and the reasons behind it.

“I am continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of Dickens House at the time of the shooting, and who is yet to speak with police, to come forward and let us know what your saw or heard.

“Montana was enjoying an evening out with a number of female friends when they were approached by the suspects close to a children’s playground. A number of shots were aimed at the group; sadly Montana was shot and died from her injuries at the scene.

“It was a warm evening but the suspects were dressed in dark clothing and had their faces covered to hide their identities.

“This would have looked odd to anyone who saw them and I am keen to hear from anyone who saw them in the moments before the shooting.

“The local community remains shocked by this terrible event and we have spoken with a number of witnesses. I still believe the public can help further and would appeal for anyone who knows who was responsible for the murder of this young woman to come forward and tell us.”
