Patricia Herbert set fire to her boyfriend’s flat in Harvist Road
An enraged woman who tried to burn down her boyfriend’s flat after they argued has been sent to jail.
Patricia Herbert, 52, set fire to a suitcase at the flat in Harvist Road, Queen’s park, resulting in a neighbour needing to be rescued and treated for smoke inhalation.
Harrow Crown Court heard Herbert had spent the evening of May 16 this year arguing with her partner in the top floor property before storming out.
She hung around outside the building and when her boyfriend and her pal returned after popping out they were confronted with flames when they opened up the communal door.
Herbert admitted committing arson recklessly and was jailed for two years and eight months.
Detective Constable Kerry Ross from Brent Police said: “We are pleased that Herbert has received a sentence proportionate with the offence and sends out a clear message to anyone who commits any crime in Brent.”
