Two teenage boys arrested in connection with the stabbing of Spanish student in Willesden have been bailed.
Investigating officers questioned the 15 and 17-year-old following the vicious attack outside Brondesbury Court in Willesden Lane, on Sunday at 12.35am.
The 30-year-old was slashed with a knife after he refused to hand over his rucksack to two men who had tried to steal it.
He received serious injuries and was taken a hospital in central London hospital where his condition is now stable but may be life-changing.
The boys were arrested on suspicion of GBH in the early hours of yesterday morning.
They have been released on police bail until next month pending further enquiries.
DC Fiona Davidson, from Brent CID, said: “This was a shockingly violent attack on a man who was simply attempting to prevent the robbery of his bag.
“I would urge anyone who saw what happened, or who has information about those responsible, to make contact with police.”
