Man and woman injured in second double shooting in Brent over the weekend

A man and woman have been injured in a double shooting on the Stonebridge estate – 48 hours before two men were gunned down in Kingsbury.
The victims, who are both in their 20s, were found at the scene in Hilltop Avenue, on Friday evening just before 8pm.
Both were rushed to hospital where the man is in a serious but stable condition the woman’s injuries are lesser.
Cllr Zaffar Van Kalwlala, Labour councillor for Stonebridge, said: “I’m devastated to hear that there’s been another shooting in our area. The community will be extremely concerned about the latest incident.
“We know there is an issue with guns and gangs in Brent which is why it’s even more important that we work together to stop the situation from escalating any further.
“We all need to unite as a community to try and break this senseless cycle of violence on our streets.”
Yesterday evening, two males, whose ages are unknown, were gunned down in Kingsbury Road at around 10.30pm.
Both are in hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police have yet to confirm whether the two double shootings are connected.
Cllr James Denselow, Brent Council’s lead member for stronger communities, said: “We at the council community safety team and the Brent police take serious crimes like this as matters of upmost importance.
“Thankfully incidents like this are rare but I’d like to reassure residents that we are committed to doing everything we can to bring offenders to justice and protect those who live in the borough.”
Officers from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command are investigating both incidents.
