A personal trainer from Dollis Hill who punched his girlfriend in the face during a row has walked free from court despite being cautioned for previously attacking her.
Luri Cardoso, 23, who works at Fitness First, left Radina Paycheva with a bloodied nose after he lashed out at her while driving through Knightsbridge.
Hammersmith Magistrates Court heard in 2013 he received a caution for battery after a member of the public saw him hurl his partner to the floor and police had been called to their home at least six times in the last two years.
Miss Paycheva had called police but when officers arrived at their home in Kendal Road neither were in and their flatmate later informed them that police had attended.
Miss Paycheva spoke to police again on her return but stated although she did not want to press charges she did want him out of the house they shared.
She told police: “We have had an argument and he has hit me.”
Prosecutor Kate Shilton said: “There is a long history of call outs between Miss Paycheva and Cardoso.
“On each occasion Miss Paycheva withdrew her support and he was no further action at the police station stage apart from one incident.”
Farzana Ladha, defending said: “He told me he didn’t hit her intentionally, it was unintentional.
“He is sorry for the way things had turned out.”
Cardoso had failed to attend trial earlier this month when magistrates convicted him of assault by beating and failing to surrender to bail in his absence.
Today he was sentenced to an 18 month community order, requiring him to attend a ‘building better relationships’ programme along with a rehabilitation activity requirement.
He was also ordered to pay a £300 fine, £300 towards prosecution costs and a £60 surcharge.
