This deadly weapon seized in Brent is one of 20 confiscated in London 20 as part of a Met operation tackling knife crime.
The seven centimetre blade is partially serrated increasing the chance of it claiming a life if used as a weapon.
The week-long intelligence led Operation Sceptre consists of specialist officers from the Trident and Area Crime Command, along with Safer Neighbourhoods Teams, conducting high visibility patrols in places where people may be carrying or using knives illegally.
In addition to weapon sweeps and stop-and-searches, officers will also be carrying test purchases to weed out dodgy traders who are prepared to sell bladed items to anyone under the legal age of 18.
Detective Chief Superintendent Kevin Southworth, head of Trident and Area Crime Command said: “Far too many families have been devastated by the impact of knives and one young life lost is one life too many.
“We are committed to doing all we can to reduce knife crime, tackle London’s gangs and take more knives and weapons off our streets.”
