A couple have been jailed for running a brothel in Kingsbury where a trafficked mother from Hungary was forced to work.
Andrea Tiborne Fazekas-Vigh, 44, and Bela Halasz, 40, both of Church Lane, were arrested after the victim raised the alarm via her daughter back in her homeland.
Harrow Crown Court heard when police arrived at the pair’s home in February this year they found the victim and arrested them both.
Yesterday at Harrow Crown Court, Fazekas-Vigh admitted controlling prostitution and keeping a brothel for prostitution and was jailed for three years and nine months.
Halasz was sentenced to two years for keeping a brothel for prostitution.
The unmarried pair face being stripped of their assets at a forthcoming confiscation hearing.
DS Edward Salter, from Wembley Police Station, said: “This was a case where Fazekas-Vigh and Halasz ran this business out of pure greed to fund a lifestyle they would not otherwise have had. They made a considerable amount of money but exploited vulnerable people.
“The victim bravely came back to this country to give evidence and they were forced to plead guilty in the face of overwhelming evidence.
“These types of premises also blight the community and affect people who live nearby but I am pleased to say they can be closed .The defendants will now be forced to pay back the proceeds they made from their criminality or face further imprisonment - crime does not pay.”
