Boy, 13, arrested in Kilburn in connection with two sex assaults in the area

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of two sexual assaults on young women in Kilburn in the last month.
Officers from Westminster arrested the boy at an address in Kilburn on yesterday afternoon and are appealing for witnesses to the assaults which are being linked.
In the first assault on June 1 the suspect attempted to start a conversation with woman in her 20s before touching her inappropriately as she made her way along on Kilburn Park Road near St Augustine Primary School at around 10.30pm.
The woman tried to avoid the suspect as he attempted to touch her again and managed to run to safety in the nearby Queen’s Head pub where staff assisted her and called police.
In the second incident the suspect pressed himself up against a woman in her 20s in an alleyway after following her on her way home from work as she walked down Saltram Crescent,Kilburn at around 9.55pm on June 17.
The victim first noticed the suspect as she walked through a park after getting off the bus to Carlton Vale at the junction of Pentland Road.
He followed her into the alleyway, believed to be on Malvern Road, and attempted to engage her in conversation before assaulting her.
The suspect ran back towards Pentland Road after the woman pushed him away and started to call for help.
The 13-year-old boy remains in custody at a central London Police station.
