The trial of a former England cricketer accused of smuggling 140,000 worth of cocaine started on Monday.
Croydon Crown Court heard Chris Lewis, 41, of Bruce Road, Harlesden, was stopped as he arrived at Gatwick Airport in December last year from St Lucia.
Lewis, who now works as a cricket coach, and 27-year-old basketball player Chad Kirnon are charged with attempting to smuggle the class A drugs by concealing it in cans of fruit and vegetable juice.
Both deny the charges.
