Police raided homes, seized dozens of wraps of heroine and crack and handed out drug information in the High Road as part of National Tackling Drugs Week.

Brent Police and Camden Police had anti-drugs teams in Kilburn carrying out searches with drugs dogs and using information from Safer Neighbourhoods teams.

Raids were carried out at eight addresses in Brent, resulting in cannabis, a CS gas canister and money being retrieved.

Officers went to areas known for drugs-related crimes and schools during the week-long operation from May 19 to 23.

In Camden, officers charged six people with Class A drugs offences.

They stopped and searched 17 people using drugs dogs by shops and tube stations.

They seized 13 wraps of heroin, 13 wraps of cocaine, nine wraps of crack and 57 cannabis warnings were given out.

Det Sgt Owen White, Brent Police Drugs and Firearms Focus Desk, said: "Targeting drug related activity is part of everyday policing. Brent Police is committed to acting upon information provided to us by our local communities."

Two women accepted treatment for drugs misuse in the Camden Council Safer Streets Team operation that aims to get drug users and dealers back on the straight and narrow.
